[ Wei Wuxian nods and considers himself for a moment before opting to weave his arm within Lan Wangji's, taking his fingers in his own and leaning against his side. He drops his head to Lan Wangji's shoulder then, looking out across from them because that's a little easier than watching Lan Wangji's face while he talks about this. ]

I am sorry to hear that. I have come to understand, at least in my own case, that much of what happened between myself and my family was a misunderstanding. Not that I did not do wrong, but that the reason I was lashing out in the first place might not have been the whole story. I do hope there is a way back for you and your family. But even if not, I hope you know that not all family is those you are related to by blood. Friends count just as much.

So, he destroyed it. Broke it into pieces, made people fight for it, knew they would never be able to truly harness its powers again. What he didn't expect was for Xue Yang and Jin Guangyao to find pieces of it, put it back together. Still not as strong as the original but still very dangerous. ]
I shouldn't have made it. It was too powerful, and too many people wanted it. I knew they'd fight for it, but I underestimated how greedy people would get.
